Three great serving opportunities have just come up.

Tutoring for Gr. 5-9 will start Monday, October 20th from 7-9:30pm at Spring Garden Baptist Church. There will be 2 orientation/training nights. The first one is on Monday, September 29th from 7-9pm and the second one is on Monday, October 6th from 7-9pm. Both orientations will be held at Spring Garden Baptist Church. Sheby Hall and I will be working together to co-ordinate the monday night tutroing sessions. She will be leading the orientation/training sessions for this year. She is a great asset to the program because she is a teacher that specializes in special education and has a wealth of experience working with at-risk children and youth!
Also, I am in the process of confirming the program date for tutoring for Gr. 1-4. It will be held from 4:30-7pm. Most likely it will be held on Wednesdays at Willowdale Baptist Church. I should know by this week which day this tutoring session will be on.
2. Communion Leader. Now that we are having communion every week, it will be good and necessary for a faith family member to oversee it. For now, it will be mainly to prepare and clean up the elements and the trays. However, in the future, we will be praying and discussing on how we can better facilitate worshipful communions. Please speak with Pastor Sean if you are interested in leading this important ministry.
3. Christmas. (Did I really say Christmas?) Yes, it is October and Christmas will be just around the corner. We are looking for a leader to help us prepare Christmas blessing opportunities. Last year, we made many “Operation Christmas Child” boxes. Should we do this again and/or is there other opportunities. Please speak with Pastor Sean if you are interested in being the cordinator for 2008.
